Static recompilation
The project translates the PS2 Emotion Engine’s machine code into C++ ahead of execution, then compiles that code for WebAssembly.
Architecture / 02
The project combines ahead-of-time CPU translation with a custom runtime that recreates enough of the PS2 environment for a title to run.
The project translates the PS2 Emotion Engine’s machine code into C++ ahead of execution, then compiles that code for WebAssembly.
The runtime handles supporting console behavior that was not translated as game CPU code, including graphics and other system interactions.
Graphics work is connected to WebGPU. You build the game-specific output locally and run it in a browser with compatible WebGPU support.
Static recompilation does not make the project automatically compatible with the entire PS2 library. Missing instructions, device behavior, and title-specific assumptions can prevent a game from working.
